Charlie Daniels Band lines up shows for fall and winter
Veteran country rocker Charlie Daniels and his band will head out on the road this fall and winter for a typically jam-packed slate of concert dates.
Daniels and crew continue their seemingly endless road trip Sept. 22 in Roanoke Rapids, NC, the first of 29 cities the band will visit through the end of the year. All dates are included below.
On Oct. 9, the Charlie Daniels Band will release "Deuces," a collection of Daniels performing pop, rock and country duets with a variety of guest performers, including Brad Paisley, Travis Tritt, Vince Gill and Dolly Parton. The first 100 fans to pre-order the set from Daniels' website will receive autographed copies of the album.
Daniels and company released "Live From Iraq" in June, a concert set featuring recordings (and video footage on a bonus DVD) of Daniels' visits to US troops in Iraq last year, with Daniels and his band entertaining soldiers in Arifjan, Baghdad, Tallil, Taqqadum, Habbinayah and other Iraqi cities. Aside from performing, Daniels delivered hundreds of musical instruments, CDs, DVDs and other portable entertainment items to US military personnel, according to The American Legion Magazine.
Daniels--whose music covers everything from rock to country to bluegrass, blues and gospel--has sold more than 18 million albums during his 40-plus-year career, according to a press release. He started in the '50s with the Misty Mountain Boys and formed The Charlie Daniels Band in 1970. His 1979 hit, "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," topped the country and pop charts, and scored a Grammy for Best Country Vocal.
Daniels also has a Dove award on his mantle and was honored with the Academy of Country Music's Pioneer Award.
