Evanescence reveals tour details
Evanescence has nailed down the particulars for its fall tour of the US and Mexico.
The alt-rockers will start Oct. 23 in Coral Gables, FL, and play a mix of arenas, sheds and theaters from coast to coast into early December. In the midst of the US tour, Evanescence will head to Mexico for early November gigs in Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey. US dates are included below, while those in Mexico can be found at the band's website.
Earlier this month, Evanescence announced it would follow its co-headlining stint on the Family Values Tour with its own dates.
"While Family Values Tour was fun, it will be nice to do something special for Evanescence fans," frontwoman Amy Lee said in a statement. "This time around, we will get to spend more time with the audience and play a longer and more diverse set."
Australian modern-rock trio Sick Puppies and electronic rockers Julien-K will fill the support slots on the tour.
Evanescence has been on the road all year supporting its sophomore release, "The Open Door," which surfaced last October, topping The Billboard 200 chart. The set sold more than 447,000 copies its first week out and reached platinum status a month later, according to a press release. It has since sold nearly 2 million copies in the US.
The video for the album's latest single, "Good Enough," premiered earlier this month and is streaming at Evanescence's MySpace page.
"The Open Door" follows the band's acclaimed 2003 debut, "Fallen," which has sold more than 15 million copies on the strength of radio hits including "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal." That set earned Evanescence two Grammy Awards: Best New Artist and Best Hard Rock Performance for "Bring Me to Life."
