Rejuvenated alt-rockers The Lemonheads [ tickets ] will launch a headlining tour this winter following frontman Evan Dando [ tickets ]'s support appearances for The Jesus & Mary Chain.

Dando, who opened for the British alt-rockers during their one-off appearance in London earlier this month, will open for the band at five October gigs. Later in the year, The Lemonheads will assemble for a late-year headlining tour kicking off Nov. 30 in San Francisco, with 18 cities on the schedule. Dates are shown below.

The Lemonheads will sport the same lineup on this tour that recorded the band's self-titled 2006 album--Dando, drummer Bill Stevenson and guitarist Karl Alvarez--with the upcoming shows marking the first time that the three have played live together as a group. In previous tours, Dando has taken various touring configurations of the band on the road with him, but none had previously included all three official Lemonheads.

Last year the band issued its eighth album, a self-titled set that closed a nine-year recording gap from the band with its first new disc since 1996's "Car Button Cloth," which featured Dando and a completely different Lemonheads lineup. Dando and Stevenson co-produced the most recent album at Stevenson's Blasting Room studios in Ft. Collins, CO.

After completing its late-year tour schedule, the band plans to hop back into the studio and begin work on a follow-up to last year's effort, according to the group's publicist.
