Sia back with 'Some People', fall tour plans

Singer/songwriter Sia returns to the US this fall, with a timely bout of online success pushing her forthcoming album well before its January release.

The Australian performer--whose full name is Sia Furler, although she chooses to go only by her first name--gathered a bit of popular attention recently when the video for the song "Buttons" from the new disc, "Some People Have Real Problems," was linked by popular blogger Perez Hilton, leading to the singer momentarily nabbing the No. 1 Most Linked and No. 2 Most Viewed status on YouTube, according to Sia's publicist.

The singer will kick off a 12-city North American headlining tour Oct. 22 in San Diego, culminating in early November before she heads overseas for a run of UK shows. North American dates are listed below.

"Some People," which hits stores Jan. 8, is Sia's third studio album and follows last year's "Colour the Small One," which originally was released in most countries in 2004. The set--which will be available for digital pre-order from Sia's website in December--features guest vocals from one Beck Hansen, who appears on the track "Academia."

An iTunes-exclusive digital EP, featuring the songs "Buttons" and "Day Too Soon," is scheduled for online release Nov. 6.
