Tool latches more dates onto endless 'Days' trek
Alt-prog act Tool has tacked on new dates to its winter excursion as the band continues to rack up the frequent flier miles behind its latest album, last year's "10,000 Days."
New dates for the band's latest trek, which kicks off Nov. 14 in Austin, TX, include a few shows on the outing's Canadian swing, as well as a Dec. 10 finale in the group's Los Angeles stomping grounds. All dates are shown below.
The hard-working band--which takes a slow approach in the studio, with only four full-length efforts since 1993--has been touring almost non-stop since the latest album's release, performing almost 100 concerts in 2007 alone.
"10,000 Days" debuted at the top of The Billboard 200 chart upon its release, moving 564,000 copies during its first week on store shelves, and also scored the band two Grammy nominations, including Best Hard Rock Performance for the song "Vicarious."
The disc, which hit the streets more than a year ago, marked Tool's return following a three-year hiatus. The set followed 2001's multiplatinum-selling "Lateralus," which also debuted at No. 1 on the album chart. In a 16-year span, Tool has sold more than 10 million albums and a half million videos in the US, according to a statement.
The group recently announced via a posting on its website a Dec. 18 ("or 19th") release date for a new video for "Vicarious" on DVD. The package will include an extended cut of the song/video, as well as assorted bonus material.
