Tool expands '10,000 Days' run
Prog-rockers Tool have added a few more dates to the final leg of their North American tour, which now stretches through mid-December.
The next run of shows is set to kick off Nov. 14 in Austin, TX, and then head through the Midwest, up to Canada and out West, where the trek is due to wrap Dec. 14 following a two-night stand in Las Vegas. Since last check, dates have also been added in Missoula, MT, and San Francisco.
Tool has been crossing the globe all year to support its latest release, "10,000 Days," which surfaced in spring 2006. In addition to a major North American jaunt in the spring, the band toured Europe over the summer and visited Australia, New Zealand and Japan earlier in the year.
"10,000 Days," Tool's fourth studio effort, marked the group's return following a three-year hiatus. Upon its release, the set snagged the top spot on The Billboard 200 and went on earn two Grammy nominations, including Best Hard Rock Performance for the song "Vicarious."
Tool recently announced that a new video for "Vicarious" will be released on DVD in mid-December. The package will include an extended cut and "lots of bonus material," according to the rockers' website.
In related news, the band Puscifer, a side project of Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan, released its debut album, "V is for Vagina," today (10/30). A few songs from that set are streaming at Puscifer's MySpace page.
