Cold War Kids headline US trek

US fans who were hoping to see indie rockers the Cold War Kids on this summer's canceled White Stripes tour will get another chance in the fall.

Cold War Kids, who are currently in Europe, are set to kick off a 12-date trek across the US beginning Nov. 16 in Portland, OR. The outing, which includes two-night stands in New York City and Washington, DC, will feature singer/songwriter Richard Swift, indie-rock band We Barbarians, and British pop-rockers The Rumble Strips on select dates. The itinerary is listed below.

The Kids have been touring since the beginning of the year to support their 2006 debut, "Robbers and Cowards," which broke into The Billboard 200 and reached No. 15 on the Top Independent Albums chart. The set has spawned modern rock hit "Hang Me Up to Dry" and the latest single, "Hospital Beds," both of which are streaming at the band's MySpace page.

Prior to "Robbers and Cowards," the SoCal foursome self-released three EPs--"Mulberry Street," "Up in Rags" and "With Our Wallets Full"--and developed a significant fanbase through relentless touring, according to their label, Downtown Records.

The buzz surrounding the band grew louder thanks to music bloggers, and Cold War Kids landed a spot on the 2006 Lollapalooza festival. They returned to the cutting-edge music event this past summer.

Cold War Kids were scheduled to tour the US with The White Stripes in September and October but those plans were scrapped because Stripes drummer Meg White was suffering from acute anxiety.
