Tool crafts more shows, readies DVD
With the latest leg of their North American roadwork set to launch next week, prog-rockers Tool have penciled in more dates for the run.
Since last check, the group has added a late-November stop in Kelowna, British Columbia, as well as December stops in Victoria, British Columbia; Missoula, MT; Nampa, ID; Los Angeles; San Francisco; and a two-night finale in Las Vegas. Details are included below.
Just days after the late-fall tour ends, Tool will issue a new DVD. Titled "Vicarious," the disc takes its name from the lead single off the group's most recent album, "10,000 Days," and will include an extended version of the music video for that song, as well as "lots of bonus material and, of course, special packaging," according to a message posted at the group's site. No further details about the forthcoming disc have been revealed.
Released in April of last year, "10,000 Days" debuted at the top of The Billboard 200 chart after moving about 564,000 copies during its first week in stores, and also earned the band two Grammy nominations, including Best Hard Rock Performance for the song "Vicarious."
Over a 16-year span, Tool has sold more than 10 million albums and a half million videos in the US, according to a statement.
