Every Time I Die, Escape the Fate to headline Take Action tour
Alt-metal outfits Every Time I Die and Escape the Fate will headline the seventh incarnation of the Take Action benefit tour, which launches in February.
Dates and venues--along with a supporting lineup for the pair of headliners--will be announced soon, according to the tour's organizers, Southern California-based indie record label Hopeless/Sub City Records.
The tour "strives to educate people about the positive difference that can be made by each of us in our community through activism and charitable work," according to a press release from promoters, who add that more than $450,000 has been raised for various non-profit organization over the event's previous six years.
Earlier Take Action lineups have included Avenged Sevenfold, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Jimmy Eat World, Thrice, Chiodos, Silverstein, Poison The Well, Sugarcult, Matchbook Romance and The Early November, among many other acts.
Buffalo, NY's Every Time I Die, founded by brothers Keith and Jordan Buckley in 1998, released their fourth full-length studio album, "The Big Dirty," in September. Several selections from the disc--which was produced by Steve Evetts (Dillinger Escape Plan, Sepultura)--can be found on the band's MySpace page.
After having gone through seven bassists since 2000, Every Time I Die recorded "The Big Dirty" without a fulltime bassist; the group has tapped Josh Newton to handle bass duties during the upcoming tour.
Escape the Fate's debut long-player, "Dying Is Your Latest Fashion," hit stores last September. Samples of the set can be found streaming at the Las Vegas band's MySpace page.
