The Cribs line up spring headlining run
UK punk/pop trio The Cribs have sufficiently recovered from various health woes to announce their next round of North American headlining dates beginning in March.
The band--which recently completed a string of shows opening for reunited punk legends The Sex Pistols--will kick things off March 8 with a slot at the MX Beat Festival in Mexico City, before turning to the first of the group's headlining shows, March 11 in Houston.
The 18-city trek includes a pair of mid-March shows at Austin, TX's SXSW Conference before continuing on to a concluding set of west coast dates in early April. All dates are shown below.
Vocalist/guitarist Ryan Jarman of the British trio--consisting of all brothers--was sent to the emergency ward in October after he passed out during a show in Birmingham, England, but not before the frontman was revived and finished the show. Twin brother Gary Jarman was admitted to the hospital two days later following a show in Sheffield, England, after complaining of pain in his arms, which turned out to be blood poisoning stemming from cuts caused by his bass guitar strings.
The trio is touring behind "Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever," the group's third studio album, which follows 2005's "The New Fellas." The set, released in July, boasts production by Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand.
A video of the song "Men's Needs" from the new album is currently available at the band's website, along with mp3s of "Baby Don't Sweat" and "Another Number." The album's latest single, "I'm a Realist," is set to hit UK radio stations in January.
The band is currently working on its fourth studio album with production by former Suede guitarist Bernard Butler, according to a press release. A new UK EP is tentatively scheduled for early 2008 release, with the new full-length to follow later next year.
