Dillinger Escape Plan maps January tour with Killswitch Engage

Post-hardcore outfit The Dillinger Escape Plan continues to support its new studio effort, with the band lining up a tour early next year with metalcore favorites Killswitch Engage.

The co-headlining outing, which kicks off Jan. 10 in Washington, DC, and also includes hardcore act Every Time I Die, will hit 19 cities in January and February. The trip follows the band's current stretch of headlining shows, with the group set to make an appearance tonight (12/3) in Detroit.

The current trek, which runs through a Dec. 22 show in Williamsville, NY, consists mainly of make-up dates for shows that the band was forced to cancel earlier this year following a broken foot suffered by guitarist Ben Weinman while the band was filming a pair of music videos in September. A Life Once Lost and Genghis Tron support the December dates, which are included below, along with The Dillinger Escape Plan's 2008 itinerary.

"Ire Works," The Dillinger Escape Plan's third studio album, was recorded in Los Angeles with metal/hardcore specialist Steve Evetts (Sepultura, Saves the Day) handling production duties. The album is the band's first with new drummer Gil Sharone replacing founding member Chris Pennie, who left the group to take a slot in prog-metal act Coheed and Cambria.

The new disc, which hit stores last month, follows 2004's "Miss Machine"; the group also released an iTunes-exclusive 6-song EP, "Plagiarism," last year.
