Celine Dion [ tickets ], whose long-running Las Vegas production ends later this month, will mark the occasion with a special one-night only screening of her show at movie theaters throughout the US, and the subsequent release of a DVD version of the film.

Scheduled to take place Dec. 17--two days after Dion caps off her multi-year run at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace--the big-screen version of Dion's "A New Day ..." production will be simulcast to more than 200 participating theaters. Tickets are priced at $12.50 and are on sale now via theater box offices, as well as through the Fathom Events website, according to a press release; the site also features a complete list of theaters where the show will appear.

"Performing at Caesars Palace the past five years has been an incredibly rewarding experience," Dion said in a prepared statement. "I'm thrilled that fans have another chance to see this remarkable show in their local movie theater."

The day after the movie-theater event, a DVD version of "A New Day ..." will land in stores. In addition to performance footage, the disc will also include behind-the-scenes shots.

Dion's "A New Day ..." production debuted in March of 2003 at The Colosseum, a venue at Caesars Palace that was constructed specifically for her show. In recent years, Elton John has staged his own show, "The Red Piano," at the Colosseum on nights when Dion's show is dark.

During her four-plus year run in Vegas, Dion performed in front of nearly 3 million people. The remaining dates for her "A New Day ..." production are available at her website.

No longer tethered to Sin City, Dion plans to set out on a massive world tour next year. The run kicks off in mid-February and will visit South Africa, Japan and Europe before winding its way back to North America. So far, Dion unveiled a North American itinerary that comprises 45 arena shows all over the US and Canada beginning Aug. 12 in Boston and running through January 2009. Last month, Dion offered up "Taking Chances," her first new studio album since 2003's "One Heart."
