Henry Rollins provokes America once more
Punk-rock Renaissance man Henry Rollins has mapped out the next North American leg of his spoken-word tour, dubbed "Provoked: An Evening of Quintessentially American Opinionated Editorializing and Storytelling."
Rollins will start the new year with a three-week tour of Europe and then launch his stateside run Feb. 19 in Birmingham, AL. He'll travel from the South to the East Coast to the Midwest through mid-March, and pop over to Montreal for a March 2 gig. Details are listed below. Tickets go on sale beginning Friday (12/14).
The performer--who splits his time between music, acting, writing and public speaking--has taken his spoken-word tour to more than 50 markets all over North America this year. The show, which promises to "incite and offer insight, to enrage and enlighten, and to draw both laughs and ire," has garnered critical acclaim from many reviewers along the way, according to a press release.
During his break from the road, Rollins is working on his Los Angeles-based radio show, "Harmony in my Head," a film called "Ice 44" and a new book project, according to his website.
He recently wrapped the second season of his Independent Film Channel series, "The Henry Rollins Show," in which he delves into music, film, politics and pop culture with the help of celebrity guests. Past episodes of the show are now re-airing on Fuse TV.
Rollins rose to prominence in the early '80s as the frontman for punk band Black Flag and went on to form the Rollins Band, which last toured in 2006. In addition to performing live, acting and authoring books, he is an outspoken human rights activist.
