Puddle of Mudd returns to the road in January
Fresh off their new album release, alt-metal rockers Puddle of Mudd are heading out on a North American tour next month.
The band wrapped this year's live performances over the weekend with a gig in Grand Prairie, TX, and will start its next trek Jan. 29 in San Francisco. Puddle of Mudd is scheduled to make its way down the East Coast and through several Canadian provinces through early March. Fellow rockers Neurosonic and Tyler Read will open the shows, which are listed below.
Los Angeles-based Puddle of Mudd is supporting its October release, "Famous," which reached No. 27 on The Billboard 200 and has spawned mainstream- and modern-rock hits "Psycho" and the title track. The set is Puddle of Mudd's first since its 2003 gold-certified sophomore effort, "Life on Display."
The time between albums allowed the group a chance to take a step back, according to bassist Douglas Ardito.
"We had a lot of time to write and then make the record, as opposed to our second record where we were writing while we were recording," Ardito explained in a statement. "This time, we had time to live life and have experiences to talk about."
Puddle of Mudd was one of the first acts signed to Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst's label, Flawless Records. The band's 2001 debut, "Come Clean," sold more than 5 million copies and spawned four radio hits: "Control," "Drift & Die," "She Hates Me," and "Blurry," which was the most-played song of 2002, according to a press release.
