Toby Keith adds dates to busy schedule
Toby Keith , who's busy spreading Christmas cheer and preparing for a new feature film, has added a few more dates to his 2008 tour itinerary.
The country superstar now has a half-dozen shows scheduled on the East Coast early next year, including recently added gigs in East Rutherford, NJ, and Verona, NY, as well as a two-night stand in Uncasville, CT. Details are listed below.
Keith has been on a media blitz this holiday season, promoting his new album, "A Classic Christmas." The set, produced by Keith and Grammy winner Randy Scruggs, includes one disc of holiday favorites like "White Christmas" and "Silver Bells," and one that focuses on spiritual standards including "The First Noel" and "Away in a Manger."
The singer will perform material from the record during Country Music Television's "A Toby Keith Classic Christmas," which is scheduled to air into next week. Guest star Jewel joins him for renditions of "The Christmas Song" and "Go Tell It On The Mountain" during the one-hour special.
After the holidays, Keith will continue to support his June release, "Big Dog Daddy," which is his third set to debut at the top of The Billboard 200. The album has spawned the fastest-rising single of the performer's career, "High Maintenance Woman," as well as the hit "Love Me If You Can."
Keith will also start work on his next movie, "Beer For My Horses," early next year. The star recently told GAC-TV that comedian/actor Rodney Carrington will co-star in the flick and Ted Nugent has a beefy role.
