Radiohead unleashes 'In Rainbows' performance on New Year's Eve
Radiohead will perform its latest album, "In Rainbows," in its entirety during a one-hour New Year's Eve simulcast over cable television and the web.
The pre-recorded performance will air commercial-free on both Current TV and the cable/satellite channel's website, with the English band performing all the tracks from "In Rainbows" as well some "other bits," according to frontman Thom Yorke.
The event will begin airing at 12 a.m. EST on Dec. 31, with both the channel and the website repeating the show three times throughout New Year's Day.
The band performed a similar webcast in November, unveiling a few new songs along with covers of old favorites, including Bjork's "Unravel," New Order's "Ceremony" and The Smiths' "The Headmaster Ritual."
The retail version of "In Rainbows" hits stores Jan. 1. The album was famously made available to fans a few months ago on a "pay what you like" basis, with Billboard reporting 1.2 million in sales of the digital download during the first day of its release.
The band's current single, "Bodysnatchers," is sitting at No. 25 this week on Billboard's Modern Rock chart.
