The Black Lips plot 'Evil' tour

Indie garage rockers The Black Lips have mapped out a big start to 2008, with a two-month US tour behind their most recent studio album, September's "Good Bad Not Evil."

The Atlanta-based proto-punks kick off the outing Feb. 2 in Denver, and the lengthy, 32-city trek will cover most of the nation, starting off with a West Coast leg through mid-February, then expanding out to the rest of the country, winding down in late March. All dates are included below.

The Lips' fourth studio album, "Good Bad Not Evil," hit stores in September. The 13-track effort was the band's second album of 2007, following February's live "Los Valientes del Mundo Nuevo," which culled much of its material from the band's previous disc, 2005's "Let it Bloom."

The new disc was self-produced by the band in its Atlanta hometown, with assistance from Ed Rawls, a friend of the group who also is a bartender at a local watering hole, The Drunken Unicorn.

"On this album we were really inspired by ourselves, especially our first two albums," said guitarist/vocalist Cole Alexander in the band's Vice Records bio. "They really changed the way the whole game was played. I think our work really transcends all genres and continues to influence us all on a daily basis."

The video for the group's most recent single, "Veni Vidi Vici," is streaming at the band's label website.
