TobyMac, Jeremy Camp pair for 'Boomin' trek
Contemporary Christian stars tobyMac and Jeremy Camp will hit the road next month for a cross-country trek with special guest Matthew West.
The "Boomin' Beyond Measure Tour" is set to launch Feb. 6 in San Antonio, TX, and visit more than 25 cities into late March. Details are listed below.
TobyMac, who recently wrapped his annual Winter Wonder Slam Tour, is supporting his third solo release, "Portable Sounds," which dropped last February. The set entered The Billboard 200 at No. 10 and topped the Christian album chart, making it the rock/funk/hip-hop artist's highest solo debut. "Portable Sounds" is currently up for a Grammy in the Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album category and the single "Made to Love" is vying for Best Gospel Song.
Also on the way from tobyMac is a live CD/DVD collection due around Easter. The set was recorded in Houston, during the Portable Sounds Fall Tour.
A two-time Gospel Music Association Male Vocalist of the Year, Camp continues to back his 2006 release, "Beyond Measure," which reached No. 29 on The Billboard 200. The rock/pop singer has 13 back-to-back No. 1 Christian radio hits under his belt, including "Tonight," "What it Means," and "Give You Glory" from his latest album, according to Christian music publication Breathe Cast. He was recently voted Best Male Artist for 2007 in Christianity Today.
West has a new album, "Something to Say," due on Sparrow Records this month. His previous releases--2003's "Happy" and 2005's "History"--have made him a mainstay at Christian radio with hits including "Only Grace," "History" and "Next Thing You Know."
