The Black Keys plot spring 'Attack'

The Black Keys will take to the road in March behind their forthcoming album, "Attack & Release," which drops on, no joke, April Fools' Day.

The Ohio blues-rock duo--guitarist/vocalist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney--plan a West Coast launch for the upcoming trek, kicking things off March 27 in Tucson, AZ. The first leg of the outing runs through mid-April, with the pair taking a month off before resuming the run May 12 in Washington, DC. Dates are below.

While most pre-sales for the tour are already sold out, pre-sale tickets remain for a few dates. Check the band's website for details.

"Attack & Release," the band's fifth studio album and second for Nonesuch Records, will hit stores April 1. The disc was produced by Gnarls Barkley's Danger Mouse, and features guest appearances from guitarist Marc Ribot and multi-instrumentalist Ralph Carney (Patrick Carney's uncle), both of whom have spent time in Tom Waits' band. The album also features vocal contributions on the closing track from 18-year-old bluegrass singer Jessica Lea Mayfield.

The set--the first recorded by the duo in a professional recording studio--follows 2006's "Magic Potion," which the pair self-produced in Carney's basement studio.
