Chevelle goes out with Finger Eleven
The trek is due to launch Feb. 19 in Flint, MI, and visit clubs and theaters primarily across the eastern half of the country through late March. Details are listed below.
Chevelle is supporting its fourth album, "Vena Sera," which debuted at No. 12 on The Billboard 200 last April and has spawned mainstream- and modern-rock hits "Well Enough Alone" and "I Get It." The band's new single, "The Fad," just made its chart debut.
"Vena Sera" marks a change of pace for Chevelle singer/guitarist Pete Loeffler, who recently told LiveDaily that, while recording the set, he chose to explore the upper register of his vocal palette.
"I think I'm sort of moving away from the almighty heavy screamo type thing," he said. "I've done that for so long and I'm moving into more melodic [vocals]. I wanted to focus more on the sing-y aspect of it."
The record also introduces the group's new lineup, with brother Joe Loeffler leaving the mix and brother-in-law Dean Bernardini taking over bass duties. The trio is rounded out by drummer/brother Sam Loeffler.
Finger Eleven continues to back its fourth Wind-Up Records release, "Them vs. You vs. Me," which surfaced last March and reached No. 31 on The Billboard 200. Lead single "Paralyzer" topped mainstream- and modern-rock charts and continues to hold Top 10 positions across modern rock, pop, adult and Top 40 radio charts. The band's latest single, "Falling On," is also making an impact at modern-rock radio.
Last month, Finger Eleven put out a companion DVD/CD package entitled "Us vs. Then vs. Now." The DVD comprises rare concert footage, never-before-seen interviews, music videos and a behind-the-scenes video journal from the band's 2007 tour. The CD features 14 previously unreleased tracks, including original demos of some of Finger Eleven's hits and seven new songs.
