SoulFest Tour To Feature Maze, Gerald Levert, K-Ci & Jojo
Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, Gerald Levert and K-Ci & Jojo will fill the bill for the third Honey Nut Cheerios SoulFest Tour, which is scheduled to open on July 1 in Memphis and to stop in 21 U.S. cities. To tie in with the tour’s opening, commemorative cereal boxes featuring Maze and Gerald Levert will hit shelves in early July.
Over the 30-year career of Maze, the group has scored several top-10 R&B singles, including "Back in Stride," "Can't Get Over You" and "Silky Soul." The group is also known for lending the opening slot on its tours to acts on their way to stardom. Past openers include Toni Braxton, Anita Baker and Regina Belle.
Levert’s latest album was the Grammy-nominated “G.” The son of Eddie Levert of the O’Jay’s, Gerald emerged in the mid-‘80s and has sold more than 10 million albums over the course of his career. Among his hits are “Private Line," “I'd Give Anything” and ``Thinkin' About It.''
K-Ci & Jojo--one of the two sets of brothers that made up the R&B group Jodeci--released their second album “It’s Real” in 1999.
