'N Sync Show Canceled After Wind Collapses Stage

'N Sync canceled a Sunday (6/25) performance in the Chicago area because a 40-feet-high stage that was being constructed for the show was felled by strong winds on Friday (6/23).

A spokesperson for the venue, Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, said that a rescheduled date could be announced as early as Monday (6/26), and that fans should listen to Chicago radio station WBBM-FM for more information. Tickets for the Sunday performance will be honored on the rescheduled date, and ticket-holders who would like a refund should contact their ticket-seller for more information.

According to the Joliet fire department, no injuries were reported in the stage collapse. Workers had stopped work on the 140-feet-wide stage and taken shelter to avoid lightning before the structure was torn apart by the wind.

Approximately 60,000 fans were expected for the concert.
