Toby Keith pumps up 'Big Dog Daddy Tour'
Toby Keith 's 2008 tour itinerary is starting to fill in, with more than a dozen dates added in the last couple of weeks.
The "Big Dog Daddy Tour" is set to kick off Feb. 14 in Portland, ME, and travel along the East Coast before heading to Houston March 13 for the Rodeo and Livestock Show. Keith's current schedule shows him taking a break from the road after RodeoHouston and picking up again in mid-June, when he'll start a string of amphitheater shows across the eastern US that stretch through mid-September. Along the way, he'll cross over into Saskatchewan, Canada, for the Craven Country Jamboree. Details are listed below.
After a holiday season of promoting his new Christmas album, "A Classic Christmas," Keith is back to supporting his June 2007 release, "Big Dog Daddy," his third set to debut at the top of The Billboard 200. The record has spawned the hit "Love Me If You Can" as well as the fastest-rising single of Keith's career, "High Maintenance Woman," which was recently nominated for Male Video of the Year and Comedy Video of the Year at the fan-voted CMT Music Awards. Votes are being taken through Feb. 25 at CMT's website and the ceremony is set for April 14.
"Big Dog Daddy" is the country star's second release on his own Show Dog Nashville label, and follows last year's "White Trash with Money," which earned him his 12th career platinum-album award.
Keith is also beginning work on his next film project, "Beer for My Horses," which was inspired by his duet of the same name with Willie Nelson. Rodney Carrington, Ted Nugent and Mel Tillis are expected to appear in the flick alongside Keith and Nelson, according to reports.
Over the course of his career, Keith has sold more than 30 million records and has earned a slew of accolades, including three BMI Songwriter of the Year trophies and several Academy of Country Music Awards.
