Strained Vocal Cord Sidelines LeAnn Rimes

LeAnn Rimes has postponed a 30-date tour that was scheduled to open on July 13 due to a strained right vocal cord, according to her publicist. Ticket refunds are available at the point of purchase.

Dr. Joseph Sugarman of Beverly Hills, Calif., has prescribed a 60 to 90 day regimen of vocal rest and therapy for the teen country music singer.

Rimes is currently writing material for a new album that will be released later this year. A new Rimes single from the "Coyote Ugly" motion picture soundtrack is scheduled for a July release.
