Jason Mraz lines up dates ahead of multiple new releases
Singer/songwriter Jason Mraz launches a headlining tour this spring behind his forthcoming third studio album, "We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things."
Mraz will launch the run April 4 in Santa Cruz, CA. The 11-city trek will run through the end of April, and will feature support from singer/songwriter Bushwalla and folk duo Makepeace Brothers. Dates are below.
Due in stores May 20, "We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things" is the singer's follow-up to 2005's "Mr. A-Z." The set, which was recorded primarily in San Diego and London, features collaborations with singer/songwriters Colbie Caillat (on the track "Lucky") and James Morrison (on "Details In Fabric"). The disc's first single, "I'm Yours," was released to both digital and traditional retailers last month.
On March 18, Mraz will release a four-song EP through his website that includes alternate studio takes of four songs from the "We Sing" sessions: "I'm Yours," "Live High," "If It Kills Me" and "A Beautiful Mess."
A second EP, "We Dance," is set for an April 15 release, with the final EP, "We Steal Things" being packaged as part of an upcoming digital bundle through iTunes, AtlanticRecords.com and Mraz's website.
Last year, Mraz released his sixth live album (to go along with five live EPs), "Selections for Friends." The set featured selections from a solo acoustic set at Chicago's Schuba's Tavern along with full-band acoustic numbers recorded at the Montalvo Winery in Saratoga, CA.
