12-Year-Old Billy Gilman Hits Country Chart At No. 4

Sony Records Nashville reports that “One Voice,” the debut album from 12-year-old Billy Gilman , enters the country music charts at No. 4 this week, making him the youngest artist in SoundScan history to land a debut album in the top five. The mark was previously held by LeAnn Rimes.

The title track from “One Voice” remains atop the SoundScan country singles chart for the second straight week, according to Sony Nashville. Billy gained his first widespread national exposure during a performance with Asleep at the Wheel at the Academy of Country Music Awards.

The young star has been resting at home in Hope Valley, R.I. Earlier this week, an errant golf ball hit during a golf clinic in his hometown knocked out one of his front teeth.
