Stone Temple Pilots book reunion shows
Stone Temple Pilots , who last month announced plans to reunite for some summer shows, have signed on to perform at a number of spring and summer festivals.
So far, the group--which has been defunct since 2002--has lined up May performances in Columbus, OH; Camden, NJ; and Indianapolis, IN; as well as a June show in Massachusetts and a July show in Toronto, Ontario. Details are listed below.
Today and tomorrow, members of STP's fanclub have access to a ticket presale for the New Jersey gig. Details are posted at the group's revamped website.
Stone Temple Pilots--Weiland, brothers Dean DeLeo (guitar) and Robert DeLeo (bass), and Eric Kretz (drums)--parted ways after completing a tour behind 2001's "Shangri-La Dee Da," which is the band's most recent studio album. A best-of set titled "Thank You" followed in 2003.
While Weiland went on to join Velvet Revolver, the DeLeo brothers co-founded rock quartet Army of Anyone with Filter frontman Richard Patrick and former David Lee Roth Band drummer Ray Luzier. The band released its self-titled debut in late 2006, but has since slipped into hibernation. Patrick recently announced plans for a new Filter album.
Both STP and Filter will be on hand for the May 17 Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, OH, and the June 1 WBCN River Rage in Mansfield, MA.
