Michael Bolton swings across North America
The blue-eyed soul singer will start May 3-4 with a couple of gigs in Mexico, and then jump over to the Caribbean for a May 9 performance at the St. Lucia Jazz festival. By mid-month, he'll be back in the US for a handful of shows that stretch from the Midwest to the East Coast through July, and he'll also pop over to Windsor, Ontario, for a June 28 concert. Details are listed below.
The two-time Grammy winner's latest album, "A Swingin' Christmas," surfaced in October with two new tracks after having been released as a Target exclusive in 2006. The set features Bolton and a big-band orchestra performing a host of yuletide hits, including "Silent Night," "Walkin' In a Winter Wonderland" and "Let It Snow." A few of those tunes are streaming at his MySpace page.
The singer also continues to support 2006's "Bolton Swings Sinatra," on which he fulfills his dream of recording Frank Sinatra classics including "New York, New York," "Night and Day," "My Funny Valentine" and "Fly Me to the Moon." That set--which also features a big band--includes a duet with Bolton's fiancee, "Desperate Housewives" actress Nicolette Sheridan, on the tune "The Second Time Around."
During his career, Bolton has sold more than 53 million records and found himself on the pop, R&B and classical charts. He has sung with Luciano Pavarotti and Ray Charles, written songs with Bob Dylan and traded guitar licks with B.B. King, according to his bio. Bolton has also found his share of success writing for an array of other artists--everyone from Barbra Streisand to KISS. His efforts have earned him several songwriter awards from various organizations.
