Brooks & Dunn expand the borders of 'Cowboy Town'
Brooks & Dunn have added a few more dates to their "Cowboy Town Tour," which intertwines with a host of co-bill and festival shows.
Last month, the superstar country duo sold out their first tour of Australia and they'll return to the road in a couple of weeks for a run of Canadian concerts with Alan Jackson . Brooks & Dunn will also play a few shows on Kenny Chesney 's Poets & Pirates stadium tour in between their own tour dates, which now include stops in Santa Ynez, CA; Reno, NV; Hartford, CT; Scranton, PA; and Louisville, KY.
The duo's previously announced gig in Milwaukee has been canceled due to a scheduling conflict, according to Brooks & Dunn 's website. An updated itinerary is listed below.
Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn are supporting their latest set, "Cowboy Town," which surfaced in October and landed at No. 4 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. The record has spawned country hits "Proud of the House We Built" and "God Must Be Busy," both of which are are streaming at the performers' MySpace page.
Brooks & Dunn have sold more than 30 million records, scored 23 No. 1 hits and are the most-awarded act in Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music history. They are once again vying for Top Vocal Duo at May's ACM Awards, and are set to perform at the April 14 CMT Music Awards, where they are nominated for Duo Video of the Year for "Proud of the House We Built."
Next month, the pair will delve into a totally different kind of artistic endeavor as they release their first novel, "The Adventures of Slim & Howdy." The book is based on the two western characters that have been traditionally featured in the prosaic liner notes of Brooks & Dunn's albums, according to their website. The duo co-wrote the novel with author Bill Fitzhugh.
