Motley Crue Drummer Returns To Group

Motley Crue drummer Randy Castillo has recovered from his recent surgery and will rejoin his bandmates at the group’s Saturday night (7/8) performance in New Mexico, according to a spokesperson for the band. Samantha Maloney, drummer for the band Hole, has been filling in for Castillo since the Crue’s tour began on June 24.

In a statement posted on Motley Crue’s official website, Castillo said he is anxious to get back behind his drum kit.

“I’m feeling great and can’t wait to get out there and play my ass off,” said Castillo. “My first show will be Albuquerque on the 8th. Can’t miss playing my hometown. My bags are packed.”

Castillo had to bow out of the first couple of weeks of the Maximum Rock tour--which also features Megadeth and Anthrax--after undergoing emergency stomach surgery. Maloney will continue to perform with the band on Wednesday (7/5) in Salt Lake City and on Thursday (7/6) in Denver.

The Maximum Rock tour is scheduled to run through Sept. 3.
