Carrie Underwood rides 'Carnival' through June
The country star, who launched her headlining trek in mid-February, has sold out every show so far, according to her publicist. She continues tonight (4/4) in Columbus, OH, and will then rejoin Keith Urban for the last 11 dates of their "Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Carnival Ride Tour."
Underwood's headlining trek resumes in late April and is scheduled to visit US arenas from coast-to-coast through June. Grammy-nominated country singer Josh Turner will continue to open shows through May and up-and-coming singer/songwriter Jason Michael Carroll will take over from there.
After her tour wraps, Underwood will spend the rest of the summer playing a handful of fairs and festivals. Her full itinerary is listed below.
The singer continues to back her double-platinum sophomore set, "Carnival Ride," which has spawned country/crossover hits "So Small" and "All American Girl." Her current single, "Last Name," is making its way up the country charts and is streaming at her MySpace page.
Underwood's 2005 debut, "Some Hearts," has become the best-selling solo female country debut in the history of the Recording Industry Association of America, according to a press release. The set has sold more than 7 million copies and logged five No. 1 singles, including the Grammy-winning tunes "Jesus, Take the Wheel" and "Before He Cheats."
The honors just keep coming for Underwood, who is the reigning ACM and CMA Female Vocalist of the Year. She's up for the same award at the May 18 ACM ceremony and she's vying for Video of the Year ("Wasted") and Female Video of the Year ("So Small") at this month's CMT Music Awards. On May 10, the 25-year-old "American Idol" winner is scheduled to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.
