Umphrey's McGee, STS9 make tour plans together
The two groups--both of which are known for touring many months at a time--kick off the run July 10 in Madison, WI. The 16-city outing runs through early August, with the majority of the dates set for the Midwest and East Coast. The full schedule is included below.
Tickets for the shows are currently available at both Umphrey's and STS9's websites, and will also go on sale at local ticket outlets beginning April 19.
Umphrey's McGee's most recent release was last year's "Live at the Murat," which was documents the band's concert at the Indianapolis venue last April. The two-disc set, produced by the band's longtime sound engineer, Kevin Browning, features fan favorites like "Push the Pig," "The Triple Wide" and "In the Kitchen," along with rare tunes including "Padgett's Profile." A few songs from the record are streaming at Umphrey's McGee's MySpace page.
The live album follows UM's 2006 studio release, "Safety In Numbers," which was followed in April by the sequel, "The Bottom Half." The latter set includes two discs--the first comprising 10 recordings that didn't make it onto "Safety In Numbers," and the second featuring more than two dozen outtakes, alternative versions, dialog, a cappella recordings and other material designed to give fans a sneak peek into the band's creative process.
All-instrumental electro-rockers STS9 plan on dropping a new studio album on fans this summer. Titled "Peacemaker," the set--to be released on the band's own 1320 Records label--follows 2005's "Artifact," which peaked at No. 12 on Billboard's Top Electronic Albums chart.
