Prince joins Coachella roster
The rock/funk/R&B veteran is scheduled to cap off the three-day festival's Saturday, April 26 lineup, which also will feature performances by a lengthy list of acts that includes Portishead, Kraftwerk, Death Cab for Cutie, Dwight Yoakam, Cafe Tacuba and a slew of others.
Prince has kept a relatively low profile so far this year, especially as compared to his 2007 agenda, which included a half-time performance at the Super Bowl, a 21-date run at London's O2 Arena and the July release of his latest album, "Planet Earth."
As previously reported, Pink Floyd's Roger Waters and chart-topping singer/songwriter Jack Johnson will headline Coachella's Friday (4/25) and Sunday (4/27) installments, respectively. An updated list of acts for each of the three days is included below.
This year's Coachella marks the event's ninth installment at Indio, CA's Empire Polo Field, and second as a three-day affair. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster. (Ticketmaster is LiveDaily's parent company.)
