Danity Kane, Day26 lead 'Making the Band' tour
MTV reality series "Making the Band " will transition from the small screen to the road when the program's best-selling stars, Danity Kane and Day26 , top the bill of a US tour.
"P. Diddy & MTV Present Making the Band 4 - The Tour" will visit 10 major markets across the country beginning May 24 in Orlando, FL, and wrapping in mid-June with a two-night stand in Los Angeles. Fellow MTB4 performer Donnie Klang will join in on the fun, as will Bad Boy recording artist Cheri Dennis. The itinerary is listed below.
Pre-sale tickets will be available tomorrow (4/17) via the Bad Boy Records website, and the general on-sale starts Saturday (4/19).
P. Diddy, who oversees the reality series, announced the outing yesterday (4/15) on MTV's "TRL." He also revealed that MTV cameras will document the tour for the new season of "Making the Band," which will air in late summer.
The program has made stars of Danity Kane and Day26, which both shot to the top of The Billboard 200 with new albums last month.
Danity Kane's "Welcome to the Dollhouse" marked the group's second consecutive No. 1 chart entry following its 2006 platinum-certified, self-titled debut. The feat marks the first time an all-female group has topped the main album chart with its debut and sophomore sets, according to a press release.
The new album's lead single, "Damaged," is currently the No. 1 most played clip on MTV.
Day26 sold more than 190,000 copies of its self-titled album during the first week of release, making the set the biggest-selling debut from a male R&B group in the 17-year history of SoundScan, according to a press release. The record features the current hit, "Got Me Going," and upcoming single "Since You Been Gone."
