Steely Dan tour continues to grow
The group will kick off the run June 8 in Hollywood, FL. Recently added to the itinerary are a pair of extra shows tacked to the band's six-day stand at New York City's Beacon Theatre, an engagement that begins June 14, and several dates deeper into the calendar, including a July 23 appearance in Los Angeles. Details are below.
Tickets for most of the shows are on sale, while a handful are currently available as pre-sales only; consult Steely Dan's official website for more information.
The upcoming tour will mark the third straight year that the band--led by co-founders Donald Fagen and Walter Becker--has launched a major tour after a career spent largely avoiding the business of touring altogether.
Last year, the group toured North America, Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand with a 10-piece band that included drummer Keith Carlock, bassist Freddie Washington and guitarist Jon Herington.
Steely Dan continues to tour behind 2003's "Everything Must Go." The group's previous album, 2000's "Two Against Nature," was the pair's first new studio release in 20 years and earned the band three Grammys in 2001, including Album of the Year.
Both of the band's principals have remained separately busy on the recording front, with Fagen releasing his third solo album, "Morph the Cat," in 2006, and Becker's second solo LP, "Circus Money," due in stores June 10.
