Toby Keith gears up for 'Biggest & Baddest Tour'

The final touches are being put on Toby Keith 's summer outing, with a few more dates added to the itinerary and support acts including Montgomery Gentry confirmed.

The Ford Trucks-sponsored "Biggest & Baddest Tour" is scheduled to kick off June 19 in Birmingham, AL, and visit amphitheaters and fairs across the US, as well as Craven, Saskatchewan's Country Jamboree, through mid-September. Since last check, dates have been added in Stateline, NV; Mansfield, MA; Holmdel, NJ; and Syracuse, NY. Details are listed below.

Country duo Montgomery Gentry, which is roaring up the radio charts with the title track from its forthcoming album, "Back When I Knew It All," will support the trek, as will newcomers Carter's Chord, Mica Roberts and Trailer Choir.

Keith is currently riding high on his latest hit, "She's a Hottie," which is included on his forthcoming best-of album, "Toby Keith 35 Biggest Hits." The two-disc collection, due May 6, spans the performer's entire career, starting with his first No. 1 song, 1993's "Should've Been a Cowboy," and running through the 2006 chart-topper "A Little Too Late."

The country star also continues to support last summer's "Big Dog Daddy," which was his third set to debut at the top of The Billboard 200. The record spawned the fastest-rising single of Keith's career, "High Maintenance Woman," as well as the hits "Love Me If You Can" and "Get My Drink On."

The performer, who is currently on his annual USO tour, made headlines this week after he and his band came under fire alongside US troops stationed at a military base in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Keith's agent told The Oklahoman the singer was playing his song "Weed With Willie" last Thursday (4/24) when mortar fire sent the band and about 2,500 soldiers in the crowd running for cover. They hunkered down for about an hour, during which time Keith posed for photos and signed autographs, and then he returned to the stage to finish his set.
