Montgomery Gentry goes 'Back' for summer trek
Country music duo Montgomery Gentry have mapped out a tour this summer behind the pair's forthcoming new album, "Back When I Knew It All."
Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry will work their own headlining and festival dates--which kick off with a May 17 show in Las Vegas--around a run of support dates for Toby Keith.
The pair has close to 35 dates nailed down for the summer months; the first appearance with Keith comes June 19 in Pelham, AL. Details are below. Information on pre-sale opportunities for the upcoming shows can be found at the outfit's website.
Due in stores June 10, "Back When I Knew It All" is the duo's follow-up to 2006's Grammy-nominated "Some People Change."
“We've been hearing from a lot of fans--they want some more raucous kind of stuff out of us," Gentry recently told Billboard.com. "Some of the in-your-face, hard rock kind of stuff. So we're going to bring in some of the older Montgomery Gentry style back into the music, as far as twin lead guitars and hard-driving kind of sounds that we had in the past."
The album features guest contributions from Keith on "I Pick My Parties" and Jypsi’s Lillie Mae Rische on "God Knows Who I Am." The set's title song and first single debuted at No. 49 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart in March.
