Kenny Loggins stays busy with summer shows
Singer/songwriter Kenny Loggins has mapped a summer full of roadwork as he continues to support his most recent studio set, last year's "How About Now."
The veteran soft-rocker has dates set down into November on his current run, which picks up May 16 in San Rafael, CA. The Southern California-based performer shows more than 30 cities on his itinerary, with the bulk of his commitments set for July and August. Details are below.
Last spring, Loggins released "How About Now," his first studio album since 2003's "It's About Time," which featured guest contributions from frequent Loggins collaborator Michael McDonald, as well as soft-rocker Richard Marx and country singer Clint Black.
A sampling of tunes from the more recent CD, which contains 12 original tracks and includes a new version of the 1973 Loggins & Messina hit "A Love Song," can be found streaming at Loggins' MySpace page.
Known for his roots-rock/country sound, Loggins has scored 12 platinum-album awards and enjoyed hit singles in four straight decades, according to his bio. In the '80s, he became the king of the movie theme songs, pumping out hits including "I'm Alright" for "Caddyshack," "Footloose" for the film of the same name, "Danger Zone" for "Top Gun," and "Nobody's Fool" for "Caddyshack II."
