G. Love teams with John Butler Trio this summer
G. Love & Special Sauce will join forces with Aussie combo John Butler Trio for a coast-to-coast North American outing.
Both bands will traipse through Europe in June and July before launching their joint tour Aug. 1 in Council Bluffs, IA. The trek, which will also include a yet-to-be announced special guest, is scheduled to visit nearly 30 cities across the US and into Canada through mid-September. Several festival performances are on the itinerary, including Chicago's Lollapalooza Aug. 3 and Telluride, CO's Blues & Brews Festival Sept. 13. Details are listed below.
Pre-sale tickets are currently available at G. Love 's website and John Butler Trio's website, and the general public will get its shot at tickets this Saturday (5/17).
Fans who purchase tickets through online outlets will receive a special bonus after the tour: an exclusive digital EP comprising show highlights from both bands. Once the trek wraps, concertgoers will receive a unique code to redeem the digital album, according to a press release.
On tour, G. Love & Special Sauce will showcase material from their 10th full-length album, "Superhero Brother," which is due June 24. The band has already completed videos for the title track and the single "Peace, Love and Happiness." The new record follows G. Love's 2006 release, "Lemonade."
John Butler Trio has been touring North America since April, continuing to support last spring's "Grand National," which broke into The Billboard 200. The album's lead single, "Better Than," has become the genre-bending band's biggest hit to date, according to a press release.
