Madonna dates continue to multiply
More sellouts mean more shows for Madonna , who will bring her "Sticky & Sweet" world tour to North America in October and November.
Since last check, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has added second nights in Las Vegas, Denver and Oakland, CA. Tickets for the Oakland date are currently up for grabs, and the new Vegas and Denver shows go on sale to the general public this Saturday (6/7). Pre-sale tickets are available through Madonna's fan club.
The world tour will roll out in August, starting with a month-long European jaunt. The North American run is set to launch Oct. 4 in East Rutherford, NJ, and visit cities all over the US and Canada through late November. In addition to the recently added two-night stands, multiple shows have been booked in New York City, Toronto, Montreal and Chicago. An updated North American itinerary is included below and overseas dates are listed at Madonna's website.
As usual, a huge production is expected with plenty of dancers and costume changes. Tour producer Live Nation said in a press release that a special stage is being created to showcase the superstar, her band and troup of dancers.
The world tour supports Madonna's seventh No. 1 album, "Hard Candy," which surfaced in April. The lead single, "4 Minutes" featuring Justin Timberlake, is tearing up international charts and remains in the Top 10 on US pop charts. The video for the tune is streaming at Maddy's MySpace page.
"Hard Candy" marks the Grammy winner's 11th and final studio album for Warner Bros. Records. Last year, she signed an all-encompassing deal with Live Nation, putting her many music-industry ventures under one umbrella.
Madonna's previous album, 2005's "Confessions on a Dance Floor," sold more than 8.5 million copies and her 2006 outing to support the set became the highest-grossing concert tour of all time by a female artist, according to a press release.
