Joshua Radin headlines North American jaunt
Singer/songwriter Joshua Radin will preview material from his forthcoming sophomore set during a six-week headlining tour of North America.
Radin, who is currently in Europe, will launch the US/Canadian trek July 15 in Tucson, AZ, and make his way from the West Coast to the East Coast and back, playing a host of clubs and theaters through late August. Opening acts include Vanessa Carlton, who will provide support for the first four weeks of the outing. Dates are listed below.
Late last month, Radin said in a blog posting that he was just about finished with his new studio effort, which is being produced by Rob Schnapf (Elliot Smith, Beck) and the legendary Rick Rubin. To hold fans over, Radin recently released a four-song, pre-album teaser, "Unclear Sky," on iTunes. Those songs are also streaming at his MySpace page, which includes a message to fans that the best is yet to come.
"Trust me when I tell you, I'm saving the best songs for the full record," the performer said.
Radin's latest effort, 2006's "We Were Here," was originally an indie release that became a hit on iTunes and prompted a major-label bidding war, according to his bio. He signed on with Columbia Records, which re-released the album without changing a thing.
The Cleveland-bred singer has since toured with Tori Amos, Sheryl Crow and Butch Walker, done co-headlining runs with Ingrid Michaelson and has been featured on the Hotel Café tour. Radin's music has also been tapped for television shows including "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scrubs."
