New Kids on the Block add more dates

A few more North American dates have trickled into the New Kids on the Block reunion tour, including a third show in Toronto.

The outing is now scheduled to launch Sept. 18 in Toronto and travel around the US and Canada through late November. Since last check, performances have also been added in New Orleans and Calgary, Alberta. An updated itinerary is listed below.

Tickets for the first round of arena shows were offered up last month and sellouts were logged in Toronto, Atlantic City, the Chicago area and Uncasville, CT. The next set of gigs go on sale beginning this weekend. Details are available at the New Kids' website.

The boy band, whose members are now in their 30s, performed together publicly for the first time in 15 years on NBC-TV's "Today" show last month. They followed that appearance with a couple of East Coast radio festivals.

As they prepare for their world tour and forthcoming album, New Kids on the Block are getting fans warmed up with a new single, "Summertime," which is currently in the Top 40 on the pop charts. The video for the song is scheduled to premiere on VH1 this weekend, and fans can get a behind-the-scenes sneak peek at the making of the video at the group's website.

As teenagers, the New Kids--Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, Jordan Knight, Jonathan Knight and Danny Wood--sold more than 70 million records and racked up back-to-back No. 1 albums with 1988's "Hangin' Tough" and 1990's "Step by Step." Following a slew of R&B/pop crossover hits and several world tours, the group quietly disbanded in 1994.

On their upcoming road trip, New Kids on the Block plan to put a new twist on their old songs and introduce material from their new album, which is due this fall.
