Album Chart: Lil Wayne dominates in debut week
Rapper Lil Wayne 's "Tha Carter III" sold more than 1 million copies in the US during its first week in stores, the best debut week for an album since the March 2005 showing of 50 Cent's "The Massacre."
Plies ' "Definition of Real" sold 215,000 copies during its first week out and debuts at No. 2 on the new Billboard 200 chart. Billboard bases its flagship album chart on Nielsen SoundScan retail reports.
The "Now 28" hits compilation sold 132,000 copies last week and slips one notch to No. 3, while Disturbed 's "Indestructible" slips from No. 1 to No. 4 on sales of 102,000. Usher 's "Here I Stand" falls two slots to No. 5 on sales of 101,000 units, according to Billboard.
Rounding out the Top 10 are Journey 's "Revelation," N.E.R.D. 's "Seeing Sounds," Alanis Morisette's "Flavors of Entanglement," My Morning Jacket 's "Evil Urges," and Weezer 's latest self-titled set.
