Scorpions sting America again this summer

Seasoned German rock outfit Scorpions will take a short swing through the US later this summer, and will team with fellow rock vets Sammy Hagar, Alice Cooper and Ratt on various dates.

The Scorps will link up with Hagar for three early August West Coast shows, then play a pair of shows on their own before joining forces with Cooper for an Aug. 9 concert at Ft. McCoy army base in Sparta, WI. An Aug. 10 twin bill in Chicago with Ratt caps the run. Details are included below.

Following the brief US jaunt, Scorpions will turn their attention to Latin America and Europe. More information about those outings is available at the group's MySpace page.

Helmed by longtime core members Klaus Meine (vocals), Rudolf Schenker (guitar, vocals) and Matthias Jabs (guitar), Scorpions continue to support their latest studio effort, "Humanity--Hour 1," which surfaced in May of last year. The group recorded the set at several different Los Angeles studios with producers James Michael and Desmond Child (Aerosmith, Bon Jovi).

The video for the "Humanity" title track is streaming at the official Scorpions website.
