Album Chart: Lil Wayne returns to top slot
Lil Wayne 's "Tha Carter III" outdistanced the competition during a relatively slow sales week to earn a return visit to the No. 1 position on the US album chart.
"Tha Carter III" moved about 156,000 copies during its latest week in stores, which was enough to beat out the incumbent No. 1 set, Coldplay 's "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends," which racked up one-week sales of about 149,000 copies. That total marks a roughly 40-percent decrease in sales for "Viva La Vida" over its previous one-week total, and places the album in the No. 2 slot on The Billboard 200 chart. (Billboard bases its flagship chart on Nielsen SoundScan figures.)
Meanwhile, Disney's "Camp Rock" soundtrack will spend its third consecutive week at No. 3 after moving about 116,000 copies, enough to keep it ahead of new entries at Nos. 4 and 5; G-Unit 's sophomore set, "T.O.S. (Terminate on Sight)," debuts at No. 4 with sales of about 102,000 copies, and John Mayer's "Where the Light Is: John Mayer Live in Los Angeles" checks in at No. 5 with sales of about 75,000 copies.
Rounding out the Top 10 are the "Now 28" hits compilation at No. 6, Kid Rock 's "Rock N Roll Jesus" at No. 7, Usher 's "Here I Stand" at No. 8, Rihanna 's "Good Girl Gone Bad" at No. 9 and Disturbed 's "Indestructible" at No. 10.
