Clutch shifts into high gear for tour

After dishing out two new live albums this year, rockers Clutch will bring the real thing to fans this fall when the group hits the road for a US outing.

The bulk of the group's itinerary gets underway in mid-September and currently comprises stops in 18 cities through early October. Also on tap is a festival performance later this month and a one-off engagement in Atlantic City early next month. Details are included below.

Late last month, Clutch launched a European summer outing that will continue to roll through the end of August. Dates for that run are available at the group's MySpace page.

In April, Clutch released "Live at the Corner Hotel," which captures a March 2006 performance in Australia, a continent where the Maryland-based band has a rabid following. "Live at the Corner Hotel" followed the group's February offering, "Heard It All Before," which was recorded in Australia last December. Additional details about the live sets--both of which are double albums and available in limited quantities--are posted at the band's website.

Clutch's most recent studio set is last year's "From Beale Street to Oblivion," which reached No. 52 on The Billboard 200 and No. 4 on the Top Independent Albums chart. The set spawned the mainstream rock single "Electric Worry."
