Lou Reed's World Tour To Visit Seven British Cities

LONDON-- Lou Reed has added seven U.K. dates to his current world tour, after making brief stops in London and Edinburgh, Scotland, in May. Playing mid-size venues, he will start his venture in Birmingham, England, on September 1.

Reed is currently touring Europe to promote his latest album "Ecstasy." The LP, which received only lukewarm reviews in the U.K., spent only one week on the Billboard 200 chart at No. 183 when it was released in April.

Formerly lead singer of the Velvet Underground, Reed left the band in 1973, although he released his first, self-titled solo album in '72.
