Eagles add miles to 'Long Road' trek
Veteran country-rockers the Eagles continue to add miles to their ongoing tour behind the group's first new studio album in 28 years with a handful of new fall shows.
The band adds a new date in Milwaukee (9/21) to go along with second nights in two previously announced Texas cities, Houston (9/9, 9/11) and Dallas (9/13-14). Full ticket information for the tour, which heads into the third of three shows tomorrow night (7/23) in Toronto, can be found on the band's website.
The veteran rockers--Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit--continue to draw their setlists on the road from their classic material along with tracks from last year's "Long Road Out of Eden," the first collection of new Eagles' material in 28 years. The two-disc set, released last November, topped The Billboard 200 and the country albums chart, selling more than 711,000 copies its first week out. It has since been certified seven-times platinum.
The double album has spawned the crossover hits "Busy Being Fabulous" and "How Long," the latter of which earned the Eagles a Grammy for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. The set, originally sold exclusively through Wal-Mart stores, recently became available as MP3 downloads through Amazon.com.
The Eagles have sold more than 120 million albums worldwide, earning five No. 1 singles and five Grammy Awards, according to a press release. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers' "Greatest Hits 1971-1975" is the best-selling album of all time in the US.
