Jason Mraz works the road all year
Singer/songwriter Jason Mraz has embarked on a world tour that will wind its way back to North America this fall.
The performer is currently in Japan and will visit Korea and Singapore before launching an August trek through Australia and a September/October tour of Europe. Following a few one-off dates in Hawaii and California, Mraz will officially kick off his North American jaunt Oct. 8 in Scranton, PA.
The tour is scheduled to stop by more than 30 cities across the US and a few Canadian provinces through early December. Highlights include a gig at New York City's famed Radio City Music Hall, a hometown show in San Diego, and a two-night stand in Richmond, VA. Irish singer Lisa Hannigan will serve as special guest on most of the North American dates, which are listed below.
Pre-sale tickets will be available beginning toay (7/30) and Ticketmaster (LiveDaily's parent company) will offer buyers an option to pre-order Mraz's forthcoming coffee-table photo book, "A Thousand Things," which is due in October
Mraz continues to support his third studio album, "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things," which debuted at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 in May. The lead single, "I'm Yours," has reached gold status and continues to climb the pop charts.
"We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things" is Mraz's first set of all-new material since 2005's "Mr. A-Z." The new record was produced by Martin Terefe (KT Tunstall, Ron Sexsmith), and includes collaborations with British tunesmith James Morrison and singer/songwriter Colbie Caillat. Several songs from the record are streaming at Mraz's MySpace page.
In addition to a series of EPs, Mraz has also released concert recordings, including 2004's "Tonight, Not Again: Jason Mraz Live at the Eagles Ballroom" and 2006's digital-only set, "Selections For Friends."
