Alt-rockers Against Me! [ tickets ] will tear up the Vans Warped Tour stage for the next couple of weeks before launching a headlining trek across North America.

The band is scheduled to wrap its Warped Tour run Aug. 17 in California and then rest up for an eight-show Canadian tour that kicks off Sept. 6 in Toronto. That will segue into a US tour that stretches from Texas to Washington, DC, through early October. Against Me! will also break away for Aug. 9-10 performances at Japan's "Summer Sonic" festival. North American shows are listed below.

The Florida-based quartet continues to support last year's "New Wave," its fourth studio effort and major-label debut. The set, produced by alt-rock heavyweight Butch Vig (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins), has spawned modern rock hits "Thrash Unreal" and "Stop."

The video for the album's latest single, the title track, was just released and is streaming at Against Me!'s MySpace page. The group also recently dropped the five-song "New Wave B-Sides" digital EP, which is available at Amazon.com.

More than a decade ago, then-17-year-old vocalist/guitarist Tom Gabel began Against Me! as a solo acoustic project. Over the last six years, he's performed his blend of punk, rock and folk with bandmates Andrew Seward (bass), Warren Oakes (drums) and James Bowman (guitar).

Against Me! released three independent LPs--2002's "Reinventing Axl Rose," 2003's "As the Eternal Cowboy" and 2005's "Searching For a Former Clarity"--before hooking up with Sire Records for "New Wave."
